Energy used by the nation’s servers and data centers is about 61 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2006, costing about $4.5 billion. This consumption is up by a factor of 2 since the year 2000 and is projected to double again by 2011 unless efficiencies are implemented. If you’re looking to build a Green data center, then you need to listen to this podcast.
