Although security and networking have traditionally been separate organizational responsibilities they are now converging, especially as network infrastructure is increasingly utilized as a security platform. Security initiatives such as admission control and identity management bring home this point. But security management products lack first-hand network knowledge. Enterprise security management and incident response initiatives must be able to view the converging network security fabric. This paper provides a framework for a combined security and network management. It´s very topical and well written.
